About the Protemics Facility:

The Proteomics Facility is an expert centre for state-of-the-art proteomics analysis. The Institute has invested heavily in new instrumentation as well as the core and academic scientists. The experienced team of scientists develop and implement innovative mass spectrometric and bioinformatic methods, for qualitative and quantitative characterisation of proteins, in simple or complex mixtures. The facility team can provide comprehensive standard and specialised proteomic workflows as a service to the Institute and external research community. Role Purpose / Responsibilities :

You will be responsible for provision of exceptional technical support for researchers, maintenance and operation of LC-MS instruments and liaise with vendors, service personnel and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the facility. In this role, you will work in collaboration with staff and clients advising in the planning of experiments, proteomic methods, experimental design and collection or preparation of material. You will solve technical problems and interpret results, as well as preparing reports or manuscripts/presentations. You will also utilise expertise and experience to improve the services and educate researchers.

About you:

This role would be ideal if you have a PhD (or equivalent experience in relevant speciality) with a focus on Proteomics . You will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to work in a small team in a service-focussed environment. Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills are required and an ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders across the institute and externally. If you have the passion and skill to work in a service-focussed role, in diverse multi-omics environment, with highly complex instrumentation and a desire to learn you would be suited to this role.

Salary range is $74,663 -$80,841 per annum. This is a full-time appointment for 12 months.
