About Population Health:

Groups in the Population Health Department conduct large-scale epidemiological studies; these include studies investigating risk factors for developing cancer and factors that influence survival after diagnosis, and a large randomised trial of vitamin D supplementation.

Role Purposes / Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Investigators of the relevant studies, you will:

  • Review and maintain existing SAS databases to high quality standards including developing and maintaining data dictionaries and related documentation
  • Develop statistical code to process, check, manage and analyse new data
  • Manipulate and merge related databases for record-linkage as required
  • Import and export data to/from SAS format and between other formats and extract customised data sets to meet specific criteria for collaborative projects
  • Conduct and support data analysis as required

About You:

The role will suit a person who has:

  • At least a Masters level qualification in biostatistics, statistics or a related quantitative discipline
  • Demonstrated experience with SAS programming and use of SAS for data management and statistical analyses (essential)
  • Experience working with large data sets and an ability to solve problems and learn new statistical techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English

Salary range is $71,027 - $ 82,202 p.a. plus super and attractive salary packaging (pro-rata for a part-time appointment). This will be a part-time or full-time appointment to 31 December 2018 in the first instance.
