About scientific services

The scientific services team provides a diverse array of support services to researchers, including flow cytometry, microscopy, histology, GMP production, animal facilities, analytical facilities, sample processing services, building services, and scientific equipment management.


Role Purposes / Responsibilities:

This role reports to the Team Leader and works closely with the Senior Animal Technician is responsible for: ensuring animals are maintained in a healthy condition by performing all tasks including changing and replenishing food, water and bedding; ensuring all work complies with legislations and Institute policies and procedures; performing housekeeping tasks; and ensuring records are accurately maintained and reported. This role is required to participate in public holiday and weekend roster duties.


About You:

To be successful in the role, you should have, or are working towards, a Certificate III in Animal Technology; demonstrated knowledge of animal husbandry and health monitoring; good communication skills; and enjoy working as part of a close team. Accuracy with record keeping, good time management, and attention to detail is also essential to this role.

Salary range is $50,956 - $54,499 pa plus super and salary packaging. This is a 1 year maternity leave contact which may extend. The successful applicant would ideally start at the end of August.
