About QIMR Berghofer:

QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases, mental health and complex disorders. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and support staff.

About the team:

This role reports to the Communications and Engagement Manager within External Relations and is a role which supports promotional activities across traditional and digital marketing, fundraising, communications and engagement, and QIMR Berghofer internal business units.


Role Purposes / Responsibilities:

In this newly created role you will demonstrate your writing skills by proactively writing, editing and updating content for the website, and other marketing and communications channels, and ensuring all material is proofread, accurate and on-brand.

Demonstrated experience in the management of digital and traditional marketing and communications projects will be highly regarded. In this role, you will provide corporate marketing and communications expertise to QIMR Berghofer staff and stakeholders, and manage marketing and communications projects for internal stakeholders, including assisting with event sponsorships and promotion.

As a member of the Communications and Engagement team, you will manage and provide advice on the ongoing development of the QIMR Berghofer website including, website architecture, UX, SEO, SEM, branding, design, conversion analytics via Google Analytics, database management, segmentation and form design.

A high level of computer literacy and the ability to use a range of websites and computer software packages including website content management systems such as WordPress, EDM systems such as Vision 6, Microsoft Office and social media management systems is essential for the role. While not essential, experience working for or with a scientific research organisation, and experience using CRM software such as Raiser’s Edge, Google AdWords and basic HTML coding will be highly regarded. This position is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate and further develop your marketing and communications skills, and to communicate about QIMR Berghofer’s life-saving medical research.

Salary range is $70,893 - $78,069 p.a. plus super and salary packaging. This is a full-time appointment to 30 June 2018 with possible extension.
