QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases, mental health and complex disorders. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and support staff.

About the lab:

The Translational Neuroscience Group is a multidisplinary team who undertake innovative brain imaging analysis in health and disease.

Role Purposes / Responsibilities:

You will assist in acquiring MRI, EEG and other neurophysiological recordings from study participants; contact potential research participants for recruitment into studies; communicate with and schedule participants for MRI imaging and neuropsychology exams; ensure accurate data entry and update database; assist in coordination of project activities and data management between QIMR Berghofer, Mater Hospital and QUT; assist with the preparation of study reports; and undertake other administrative tasks as required.

About You:

The successful applicant will possess the following: relevant tertiary qualifications in an appropriate research or health-related discipline or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience (clinical, health and/or research knowledge); attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills; proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, databases and spreadsheets; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ideally candidates may also have previous experience in research studies; experience in MRI or EEG acquisition; or knowledge of the neurobiology of epilepsy or dementia.

This will be a part-time three year appointment (19 hours per week). Salary range is $31,115 - $36,401 per annum plus up to15.75% superannuation and attractive salary packaging.
